Want to chalk up a network, but you're confused by the symbols?
Never mind, have a play with this! Just stick the values in, and we'll spit you out a nice PDF of what you should be drawing.

This Python script was created by Dean Hall, and I wrapped it into CGI. The script uses the ReportLab toolkit to output PDF.

UPDATE (3/7/2002): Dean sent me a new version of the script, with these changes:

The back-to-back half-circles are gone - it's whole circles all the way.
There's a legend printed at the bottom that explains the layout.
Instead of printing the node direction as a number, the position of the distance measurement inside the circle indicates the direction.
You can now add a URL for info about the node.

Alert, IE users! When trying the script in IE, it often just sends back a blank screen. Don't panic! Just whack the Reload button (or the F5 key) and you should see the PDF come up.
(I don't know why this happens. It was hard enough getting IE to accept that it was a PDF file - that's why the script name ends in .pdf. Tchuh.)

Node direction: (1-12 - as in hours of the clock, when facing the symbols - so 12 is straight ahead, 6 is behind you, etc.)
