The perfect accompaniment to your
“Mentor Reloaded” coat:
a pair of “Natrix Rinity” sunglasses.

(Turned up in my inbox moments before I saw
Danny’s
post. No, I’m not linking the store – it’s bad enough that I’m
putting the ad up)

Linking *to* the store! What’s with this American-inspired laziness about using a verb without a proposition? Do you write people?
Don’t mind me. I’m getting kneejerk about grammar in my old age. Just thought I’d vent a bit.
The ‘Orpheus’ clip-to-your-nose glasses look cool but fall off after about three minutes…
uh…
so I’m told. By a friend. Who has a nose like mine.
Paul: The form of “link” without the preposition is perfectly valid: Participants at a seance link hands – they do not link to hands. While “link to” is more common on the web, surely the use without the preposition is still valid, given that a series of pages can be links in a chain?
James: You want proper fitted pince-nez, you do.

Actually my Morph-specs came from As Seen On Screen: pince-nez they ain’t, but — credit where it’s due — they did fit a bit better until my nose got broken.
‘Link’ in the sense you used it is transitive: there is an implied ‘to’ and leaving it out is just sloppy.
Random: goodness, the new Black Box Recorder album is a bit lovely.
Actually, Yoz is covering up a typo. He actually meant “No, I’m not liking the store – “.
Now he’s trying distract you by mentioning shows where people go talk dead people.
Hi Yoz,
Thanks for linking to us!!!
